BE MARINE ENGINEERING (4 Years)

A four year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) course leads to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of competency awarded by the ministry of shipping(Government of India). After six months of sea service, cadets are enabled to become Marine Engineers on board Merchant Naval ships anywhere in the world. This course is strictly residential. All candidates applying for B.Tech. Marine Engineering Course also need to appear for a COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) conducted by the INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY (IMU).

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have passed in (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subject with a PCM average of not less than 60%. Minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th & 12th standard.

NOTE : Part Time or Distance Learning or Correspondence Course or any combination of these will not be considered.

• Age Limit - Below 25 years at the time of commencement of the course.

• Physical Standards : Medically fit as per the standards set by M. S. Medical Examination Rules, 2000.

• Eyesight : Candidates have to qualify a full eyesight test conducted by the DG Shipping approved medical doctor before being finally selected for the course. Maximum permissible tolerance is + 2.5 on each eye. Colour blindness candidate is not eligible
